Signs, signals and pavement markings

MVA slides 1–30

Detailed reading

Read a sign in three steps: shape, color, then symbol or words. A stop sign requires a full stop. A flashing red signal also requires a stop; proceed only when it is safe. A flashing yellow calls for caution.

Deeper study

Road markings guide lane position and passing. Solid and broken lines have different meanings; never treat a broken line as permission to pass without enough visibility and space. Review every sign pictured in slides 1–30.

Reflection question

Study prompt: describe what you would do at an unfamiliar intersection before reaching it.
