A Maryland driving record follows the driver, not the vehicle. After a qualifying conviction, the court reports the disposition and the Motor Vehicle Administration records the violation and associated points. As points accumulate, the response becomes more serious. Driver improvement is rehabilitation: understand the behavior, accept responsibility, and prevent the next unsafe decision.
